This work is part of the series built on the subject of the Queens of Egypt. This painting represents Queen CLEOPATRA. Women in ancient Egypt had more rights than in any other ancient culture and were valued with greater respect. This is evident not only in the physical evidence and inscriptions but in their religion. Some of the most powerful and important deities in the Egyptian pantheon are female. I like the analogy with present times when we see the rise of powerful woman in our societies and pushing towards equal rights in all fields of human activities.
